Now in Whistler: Vérba at Patina, Everything Home

For a year, Vérba lived in one place: here. Poured by hand in our Toronto studio, packed at the same table, sent out one box at a time.

As of this autumn, there is a second place you can find it — on a shelf in Whistler, British Columbia, the whole country away from where it was made.

What you'll find there

Her Rules and His Choice, side by side — the way they were meant to be met. Four scents, chosen for the mountains:

• Cinnamon Hug — cinnamon, vanilla bean, spiced oat milk, caramel. The one people come back for.
• Soft Bound — leather, labdanum, cotton spun, amber. Soft, then not.
• Unleashed Saffron — saffron, amber, cedarwood, oud. Warm the way a fire is warm.
• Oud Péché — smoked oud, cardamom, clove, patchouli. Built for a long evening after a cold day.

And the Discovery Set — six small candles, for when choosing one feels like too much commitment.

Every candle is a coconut–apricot wax blend with no soy fillers and an FSC-certified wooden wick, in a vessel we cast ourselves. The scents are composed in Toronto, from raw materials — not bought as finished blends.

Why it matters to smell it first

A candle is the one thing in a home you cannot judge from a photograph. You can see the vessel. You can read the notes. But the only honest way to choose is to lean in and breathe.

Vérba is built to be intense — a high fragrance load, meant to fill a room rather than suggest itself. Some people want exactly that. Some people want to know before they decide. Now, if you're in Whistler, you can.
